1. Eligibility:
- The event is open to all CSUF students, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced pro.
- Teams can consist of 4 people, or participants can join individually.
2. Theme:
- The challenge is to design a digital experience that celebrates the spirit of White Day. Submissions can be in the form of a website or mobile application that showcases love and connection in a creative and engaging way.
3. Submission Requirements:
- Wireframes: Submissions must include wireframes (preferably high-fidelity) that represent the user flow, layout, and functionality of the design.

Presentation: Participants are required to submit a 5-minute presentation explaining:
- The problem your design is solving.
- Your target audience.
- Key design decisions and how they align with the theme.
- Key screens of the application (we recommend using Figma)
4. Judging Criteria:
- Innovation: How fresh and unique is your solution in addressing the theme?
- Impact: How effectively does your design solve the problem and impact the user experience?
- User-Centered Design: How well does the design meet the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the target audience?
- Aesthetics: Is the design visually appealing, engaging, and in line with the theme of love and connection?
5. Design Tools:
- You may use any design tool(s) of your choice (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, InVision, etc.).
- If your design involves interactive elements, feel free to include a clickable prototype or animations.
6. Collaboration:
- Teams can collaborate via shared workspaces, but all work must be original and completed during the Designathon timeframe.
- No pre-existing designs can be used; everything must be created during the event.
7. Submission Deadline:
- All submissions must be submitted by 3:30 PM. Late submissions will not be accepted.
8. Code of Conduct:
- Participants should engage in respectful, professional behavior throughout the event.
- Plagiarism or the use of copyrighted material without permission will result in immediate disqualification.
9. Prizes:
- Prizes will be awarded based on the judging criteria outlined above.
10. Intellectual Property:
- All submitted designs are the intellectual property of the creators. However, by submitting, participants grant permission for the organizers to showcase the designs publicly.
11. Technical Support:
- Participants will have access to the CSUF SWE discord for any questions or technical issues.
12. Updates and Communication:
- Any updates or important announcements regarding the Designathon will be communicated through the CSUF SWE discord.
